Fund Raising

 

Many thanks to parents who supported our fund raising activities. These included the Quiz Night and the Rickety Wheel.

Our next big event will be our School Show next Term. Our Big School Raffle will take place during this.

FIRST MAIN SCHOOL SHOW

"Snow White and the Seven Jockeys".

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".
This was a wonderful success and due to the commitment of all those who assisted in any way. Thanks to all parents and friends of St. Eithne's for helping us manage this new first for the school.

 

School Choir

Over the Christmas period the school choir gave a number of performances. These include the Carol Service in Holy Family Church, a performance in Edenballymore Lodge (old people's residence), the School Christmas Show and Foyleside Shopping Centre.

Thanks to Mr Gormley, Miss Mc Laughlin, the choir children and their parents for their continued support and commitment.

 Carol Service
A Carol Service for all St. Eithne's Parents, staff members and children was held on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. in the Holy Family Church.

             
Christmas Day Mass

Fr O Kane and Fr. Colhoun asked the choir to sing this year at the 10a.m. Mass on Christmas Day.

 

Primary 3 Nativity.
On Wednesday 19th Dec. at 10a.m. the Primary 3 children hold their little nativity in the School Hall.
All parents are welcome.

Laura D. (Doherty) of Pop Idol fame came to St. Eithne's to judge our talent competition.

Puppet Show.
The Banyan Puppet Theatre visited the school on the 7th December. Karen Torley (Puppeteer) presented three shows so that all the children would get a chance to see it.

Spanish Tuition

Primaries 5, 6 & 7 pupils have been learning Espanol this term. Their teacher, Senorita Perez is from North Spain.

Emergency Services Competition
Well done Conor Mc Feely on coming second in this competition. He won a professional painter's set and a number of other items.

Credit Union Art Competition

Well done to the boys and girls of Mrs Coyle's and Mrs Mc Guigan's class who entered for the Credit Union Art Competition. Their pictures helped the school win an overall second place and £50 for school funds.

Book Fair
19th - 22nd March

The Travelling Book
Company held a book
fair in the school.
Children had an opportunity to see all the books on display. A special word of thanks to the ladies of the school support group for organising and running the book fair. A total amount of £1250 was raised and the school received 60% of this amount in free book commission.

P. 7 Swimming
Primary Seven Classes have started their swimming lessons this term. This is part of the P.E. curriculum

The year of Our First Inspection
This year we had a focused inspection in May.
The reporting Inspector was Ms L. Armour. The inspection focused on Maths, ICT and Pastoral Care.Of course the school did phenomenally well.
