2009/2010

  • This year we staged the School Show "Aladdin".
  • The school won the Credit Union Poster Competition again!
  • The Soccer Team made it through to the N.I. Semi Finals.
  • The Boys' Soccer 7's won the Derry Section of the IFA competition.(Girls were runners up)
  • Airporter Sponsored our Sports Kits and introduced vegetable growing to our children.
  • P.6 & 7 children went to Gratan in June rather than the usual July.
  • Mrs Kelly's Athletics Team won the Sports Council's Best primary School Team Award.
  • The Athletes won the Foyle Cross Country Cup and the boys went on to come 2nd in Northern Ireland.
  • We opened up a special new outdoor play area for Primary 1 & 2 pupils (Foundation Stage).
  • Primary 5 pupils started a special reading programme (Accelerated Reading).
  • The Under 11 Boys Swimming Team won the trophy at the North West Gala.

Swimming Team Winners

Well done to the Boys Under 11 Swimming Team. On Thursday 3rd June the boys won the U11 Section of the Schools' North West Boys Swimming Cup! Well done! There were lots of medals won by the whole team.

First Communions.

Our Primary 4 children made their First Communions on Saturday 29th May at 11:30 in the Holy Family Church.

CONFIRMATIONS

OUR PRIMARY 7 CHILDREN MADE THEIR CONFIRMATION ON SATURDAY 17TH APRIL .

Our Soccer Team made it through to the Semi-Finals of the Northern Ireland Cup.

The match was held in Cookstown on Thursday 25th March. The team just missed out when they met Hardy Memorial in the Cookstown Arena. It was a valiant effort! Read the match report on our soccer page.

Annual School Show.... " Aladdin".

Our Annual School Show took place on 9th, 10th & 11th February. This is a show put on by all our Primary Seven pupils as part of their educational development and for pure good fun. See photos of the show! What an experience for all!

There was a Summer Scheme this year in the school on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th August. This was on from 10 a.m. until 2p.m. each day all children aged 6 to 11 living in the area were welcome. The children also attended the big final Summer Scheme in the Sports complex the 16th, 17th & 18th August from 10 until 2. This scheme catered for St. Eithne's, the Model, St. Anne's, Holy Family & Rosemount Primary schools. It is organised as part of the Outer West Extended schools initiative, in partnership with DSD & the Derry City Council.
