Year 7

This is the year that:

The soccer Team won the Double;

St. Eithne's became the Top School in the Credit Union Art Competition,;

The school show was "Cinderella" featuring two ugly sisters.;

We became 3 stream and our numbers reached 552;

There was a class in the Medical room and a class in the library.

The building of the school was finally completed.

SOCCER TEAM WIN THE DOUBLE


Well done to Mr Feeney and the school soccer team. They carried off two trophies this year winning both the league and cup in the intermediate section of Primary schools.

 

Steven Kenny (Derry City Manager) visited the school to present the trophies.

Credit Union Art Competition

(Top Overall Winner)

Well done to all the boys and girls who entered for the Credit Union Art Competition.
Their pictures helped the school win an overall first place and £100 for school funds.

Niamh’s picture went on to win the next stage of the competition and receive further awards.

Choir of the Year &

FEIS WINNING CHOIR
Well done Miss Keys and the choir. They won a cup in the Feis this year when they entered for the   the Two-part  Choir Competition.

This choir entered for the choir of the year. It was a great experience for them all.

 

Swimming Success.

WELB GALA
Well done to The Boys and girls of the Swimming Team who picked up prizes firstly in the Western Area Championships.
Backstroke 50metres First place - Ruaidhri O Neill.

In the North West Gala in June Danielle G. picked up 1st place in the Frontcrawl, Christopher G. got a 2nd place in his age group and his brother James got 3rd in the backstroke. Stephen Mc L., Garbhan Q.and Quentin W. got placed third in the butterfly, frontcrawl and backstroke respectively and the under 11 girls and under 11 boys teams came 2nd in the relays.

INTER-CLASS GALA.

This was the first year that we held an inter-class gala. The Primary 5 to 7 pupils all went to the William Street Pool to take part in a swimming gala. Each entrant raced against others in his/her year group and a point system was in place to see which class was the overall best swimming class.

First Instrument Grades.


Well done to all the children who received music grades this year. St. Eithne’s entered these pupils for the first time. They have been learning to play in the school clubs.

This year's show was great craic. Conor Mc F and Ryan G. as the Ugly Sisters were just great.


Halloween Dress Up For School Funds.

This Halloween all our pupils dressed up for our Halloween party day. £ was collected altogether.

RICKETY WHEEL

As is traditional we held the Rickety wheel in the first term.

Cathy's office was finally finished
It rained again at the Sports.
CLUBS
St. Eithne's is a great school for offering extra-curricular activities for the children. All the staff help out.

Our Primary 6 and 7 children who took part in the Foyle Youth Sport "Sports Hall Competition" in partbnership with St. Cecilia's College.

First Confession took place on 5 th May at 7:00p.m.
First Communion took place on Saturday the 29th May at 11 a.m..
  The P.7 pupils were confirmed on Saturday 19th March 11 a.m
. by Bishop Lagan.
