This year DENI agreed to fund the completion of the school. Believe it or not this was our 8th year and the school was still not quite complete. The school name was placed on the front wall of the school. A new bin enclosure has been built. Cathy had finally found some privacy as her office was given a glass screen. and the grounds were planted with trees and shrubs. |

First Interactive Whiteboards |
|
Our first new Interactive whiteboards were up and running. There were altogether 8 such boards installed in the school. What do they do? Children can use a special pen on the board to move objects around, write sentences play educational games on this touch sensitive screen, which is the same size as a blackboard. It was the latest piece of educational technology, which is taking schools by storm, and of course St. Eithne’s was already ahead of the game with a board for every year group and one being used for special needs. |
