Fire-Alarm! On Friday 7th March 2006, the alarm in our school went off at 9:25a.m. Here is what happened............. It was 9:25 in the morning and we were about to start our spelling-test. Then, unexpectedly, the fire-alarm went off. We got out as quickly as we could, in case it may be a real fire. I felt scared, strange, and terrified of what I might see next. When we got out to the play-ground, it started raining. We had no coats on at the time, so we just had to cover our heads with our hands until we were allowed back inside. Everyone was jumping up and down, doing so with excitement, being afraid, and wanting to get shelter from the rain.
|
Before we got inside, we heard the sirens from the fire engine. We also saw the flashing blue lights. The firemen arrived. They were around 6 or 7ft tall. They were like big giants! They went around the school to check why the Fire Alarm had gone off. A steamer in the canteen had over-heated, causing the whole problem. I felt safe, relieved and happy now I knew it was all over. Finally, we were allowed to go back inside.
It was a weird, unexpected experience, and something tells me that I will remember that day for a LONG TIME! By Rory M. Primary 5 Yes we did have a fire alarm and these really huge firemen came!

A snake has smooth skin. Some people think that their skins are wet but no they are not. A Snake has no legs or arms so it slides on its belly. A snake has a narrow body. It can see better in the dark than the day. Snakes can kill you by biting you and the poison that comes out of their teeth is called venom. Venom can kill you. It can unhinge its jaws to swallow eggs and animals whole. Snakes don’t chew their food. They use their tongues to smell. Snakes live in warm countries. There are no snakes in Ireland. You won't find them in Newfoundland, New Zealand or many South Sea islands. There are no snakes in Ireland because St. Patrick banished them away. The mother snake lays her eggs and the baby snake uses an egg tooth to crack open the egg. My favourite snake is the rattlesnake. I like snakes. Aine Mc L(P.4)
