Primary 5 go up the Walls.

20th May 2016

On Thursday 19th May all three P5 classes went on a trip to the Saint Columba Heritage Centre as part of their work for the "Where I Live" theme. First of all, the children watched videos and listened to stories about the life of St. Columba. They found out about how he went to Iona on a boat and scared away the Loch Ness Monster. They also found out what it was like to be a monk and some children even got to dress up as one.

After a short break the children went on a walk along a section of the Derry Walls where they heard stories of how the Siege of Derry started and what life was like inside the walls during the siege.
