P5 ‘Where I Live’ trip.
The children of Primary 5 took part in some interactive learning this week to help with their topic called ‘Where I Live’.
The day got off to a great start when they visited the Millennium Forum and got to go on a very exciting tour of the dressing rooms and the backstage area. After that they took a short walk over to The Guildhall and were greeted by the Mayor himself! After asking the Mayor some very interesting questions about his job, the children were brought to the council meeting room and took part in some very exciting debates on important topics such as making the summer holidays longer and banning homework!
After having lunch in McDonald’s, the day finished off with a trip around Derry’s historic walls where the children saw first hand where the siege happened and got a photo taken with the famous “Roaring Meg” cannon.
On behalf of St Eithne’s PS I would like to sincerely thank Margaret for her very informative and enjoyable tour of the Millennium Forum and thanks also to the Mayor and his staff for making us feel so welcome on our visit to the Guildhall.
